I am confused about jeroboam's son or sons. Was he like George foreman and named them all the same-Abijah? Because in ch 14 Abijah dies and in 15 he is king.
Too many confusing names!Abijah was Jeroboam's son who died because God did not want to bring the curse of his father on him.Jeroboam's other son Nadab became king of Israel when Jerobaom died.In Chapter 15 we have Rehoboam's (Solomon's son and king of Judah)son Abijam becoming king of Judah while Jeroboam is still king in Israel. To make things more confusing, the prophet at this time is Ahijah! So we have three people:Ahijah - prophet of GodAbijah - dead son of Jeroboam, king of IsrealAbijam - son successor of Rehoboam, king of Judah
Ahhhh, so I need more coffee when I read in the morning for better clarity or new glasses. :-)
You are not alone... = )
