Day 120
Jeremiah 22-28
Scripture: 23 1 “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the LORD
Observation: The shepherds that are scattering God’s sheep are going to have a lot to answer for.
Application: I never really realized how big of a responsibility it is to be a leader in the church i.e. pastor deacon, etc…yes I know it was a big deal of course but I never knew that God said that these people would be held accountable for so many things and also to a higher degree…I only saw that after I read through the Bible the first time. This is a very serious job for the Lord and whoever takes it upon themselves to do it should do it with care and consult God in everything before they do it.
Prayer: Lord I asked of you today to please go with all the pastors, ministers, deacons, elders etc, which you have chosen to spread your word! They have so much power over people and if used without your guidance it could be very bad for believers and non-believers alike. Help them to realize when they do something wrong and to be so connected to you that everything they do comes from you. Thank you for these people! Without them to guide us we would indeed be like lost sheep! Thank you for everything you do..Amen
