Day 135
Ezekiel 45- Daniel 3
Scripture: 3 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up
Observation: We hope and expect that God will rescue us. Even if He does not, we will still keep our faith in Him and worship Him.
Application: I really do hope that if I were ever placed in a similar position I would be able to stay strong and stay true to God. I really do love and respect these three men and they amaze me and give me food for thought when they say, yes they believe God will safe them but even if He doesn’t they still believe in Him and their faith will not be shaken. Even though that would mean they are going to be killed by fire…
Prayer: Father first I want to thank you for giving me and other people this verse to hold onto in hard times. Please go especially with those people whom are hurting and wondering why they must face so much suffering. Give them an extra dose of love, peace and faith in You as they face the challenges which are in their lives. Guide them closer to you, even through their heartache or struggle, and help them to see you even in hard times. I also want to thank you that I live in a county where I can worship you freely, without any fear of punishment. Thank you for the countless blessings you give me. Please use me how you see fit to share your love with those around me, near or far. And guide me as my faith grows. In your name we pray…amen
The next two versus also spoke to me (especially the bold parts) but decided on the above to do my SOAP on :)
28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. 29 Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble, for no other god can save in this way.”
