Day 74
2 Chronicles 8-16
Scripture: 12 1 After Rehoboam’s position as king was established and he had become strong, he and all Israel[a] with him abandoned the law of the LORD.
Observation: So after he became king and was strong (as a country, army etc), he forgot where it all came from to begin with. He forgot that it was because of God that he was where he was.
Application: Now this happens over and over in the Bible! Almost every time (and most definitely in kings!) the people follow God and it things go well…then they get caught up in something else (mostly how good things are going) and forget how it all happened in the first place. So they stop following God and things go bad…
So moral of the story (I know it aint a story J) is: It is very very important to always know where your strength came from and to keep on following and honouring God.
Prayer: Father thank You so much for guiding me and giving me strength in soooo many ways and times, too many to mention, but I thank You for each one of those…and also for the ones still to come! I know my strength comes from You, and only You, I know how much better my day is when I seek You first so help me to do a better job of seeking You and putting You and Your will first. Thank You for calling me back when I do stray from Your path! Thank You for your provision and grace in my life. Amen
