Day 115
I am a bit ahead in my readings at the moment and did this one a few days ago…and on Tuesday this week I heard that one of my best friends lost her husband. Then I saw this soap this morning and knew exactly what verse to send her…please pray for her in this hard time but she knows she will be ok with God’s grace and love surrounding her.
Isaiah 55-62
Scripture: 57 1 The righteous perish,
and no one ponders it in his heart;
devout men are taken away,
and no one understands
that the righteous are taken away
to be spared from evil.
Observation: The righteous are taken away to be spared from evil
Application: wow ok so I know to us death is very emotional but it is actually not the worst thing that could happen to us or someone we know. As friends or family that stay behind we always ask ‘why’ but in reality it is only bad for us because we are left behind. And then sometimes we would say ‘why so and so, he was such a great person’ he didn’t deserve it (and in this way we are actually judging as to whom are better to die than others because of their deeds) And now this verse is telling me why it happens sometimes, that righteous people might have been taken away to be spared from evil! That is actually pretty amazing….
Prayer: Thank you Father for sending this message to me today. We have so many questions and sometimes you try to help friends in bad situations but don’t always have the right answers or words for them…thank you for giving me something to say! Please be with every single person that has lost a loved one and are struggling with the what ifs and whys…help them to know! In your name we pray. Amen
