Day 4

DAY 4
Genesis 24-27

Scripture: 26 ¹⁴ for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him. ¹⁵ Now the Philistines had stopped up all the wells which his father’s servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, and they had filled them with earth.

Observation: God kept His promise to bless Isaac. The neighboring Philistines grew jealous because everything he did seemed to go right. So they tried to get rid of him by stopping his wells...

Application: ummm so yes, jealousy...now this is n tough one. For those of you who know me, you know I am not jealous in relationships, BUT I have noticed that I am getting jealous over people and what they have that I want (not material possession necessarily)...does that make sense?…like my friends having kids etc, for like a split second I am like, urrgggg it should be me, and then after that initial second I am ok…but I don’t even want that second of jealousy because we all know that jealousy is a dividing force and can split many things apart! And I know that God has a plan for me and that plan is amazing! And you never know they might even be jealous of me because at least I can sleep late! (hahah just kidding ;)) So what I have to do, (and I do generally these days, still a working progress) is to thank God for the good things that happens to them before I can even contemplate being jealous...difficult one hahaha 

Prayer: Father, please help me to not become jealous of other people and their good fortunes. Because I know you have a plan with and for me and you keep your promises! Help me to also never strike out in anger when I do feel jealous and to rather pray to you to help me through it! Thank you so much for your helping hand, Amen.
