Day 12

Day 12

Exodus 15-20

Scripture: Ex 19: 8 Then all the people answered together and said, "All that the Lord has spoken we will do." So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.

Observation: So God promised to bless and care for his people and in turn the promised to obey him. So the covenant was sealed, but the good intentions quickly worn of....

Application: Ok so this made me wonder how many of us had made promises to God and not kept them (on purpopse or by mistake). I knew this verse was for me today as for earlier in the day i read an article about someone else not keeping her vow and she sure knew about it when he reminded her of it!!!and again this same thing came up with 180...now i know i have two promises that i made to God fairly recent and was kind of trying to forget i made the one or to 'soften' it hahaha (don't worry it is not a 'major' promise but something that is fairly difficult for me:) and the fact that i promised it to him does make it major yes :)) but oh no he knew that was what i was thinking so he sent these two very clear reminders my way!!! In Ecclesiastes 5 Solomon warns us about making foolish vows. Vows are voluntary but once made they should be unbreakable. And it is dumb to make a vow you know you can not keep or to play games with God by only partially fulfilling your vow (Proverbs 20:25) but yes we like to try and justify it when we do break vows in life. And it is said a number of other times how important keeping your word is...and that is to other people, making one to God is like the ultimate..."it is better not to vow than to make a vow to God and break it. It's better still to make a vow and keep it" well that sure told me!

Prayer: Father thank you for my very clear reminders today! And yes my promises to You are very very doable, especially with your help. So i really had no reason to even contemplate breaking it or only fulfilling it half way! I am sorry that the thought even crossed my mind! But thank you that you love me enough to remind me of my faults. Hold my hand, keep me strong and all the people reading this message right now! Amen
