Day 60
1 Kings 19-22
Scripture: 19 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
Observation: His voice came in a gentle whisper not in a shout.
Application: So lots of times I want God to answer me, and like in right then and there. And believe me I ask Him a lot of times: like a few nights ago when I had to have a very sensitive discussion with someone ( it might sound silly to you but it was important and I wanted to make sure the message got carried across correctly) and I wanted a clear answer right there and then. It obviously didn’t happen and luckily I didn’t just send a message but went to bed and ‘slept’ on it. And I believe God told me what to do and how to do it during the night and I could then apply it to the discussion I had the next day. I think we are supposed to focus on God and not our troubles and then we will hear Him clearer. Elijah knew to be still and wait, and this is something I need to learn from him!
Prayer: Father I want to say thank You for every single prayer You answer and just the fact that You listen is amazing to me. Please help me (and everyone struggling with this) to learn how to hear You even if Your response is a whisper and not load and obvious. In Your name we pray this. Amen
